DMIT is my go-to VPS provider, with top-tier lines in Japan, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles. This article provides a complete comparison of the three lines and shows you which scenario each is best suited for.
For the basic purchase flow, see DMIT VPS Purchasing Guide. This article focuses on how to choose between the three lines.

Pricing Comparison (Same Specs)
Using 1C/1GB/1TB traffic as example:
| Line | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|
| HK Eyeball Tiny | $14.9 | ~$150 |
| JP PVM Tiny | $16.9 | ~$170 |
| LAX Premium Tiny | $11.9 | ~$120 |
| LAX Economy Tiny | $5.9 | ~$60 |
Price order: LAX Economy < LAX Premium < HK < JP
Scenario Decision Guide
Scenario 1: Daily Internet Privacy (Home Use)
| Priority | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Latency first | HK Eyeball |
| Best value | LAX Premium |
| Cheapest | HK Eyeball (if out of stock, use LAX Premium instead) |
Scenario 2: AI Tools Only (ChatGPT / Claude)
Only recommendation: LAX Premium
- ChatGPT is sensitive to datacenter IPs; LAX Premium’s fresh pool has the highest pass rate
- If still blocked, layer with IPRoyal Residential IP
Scenario 3: Multi-Region Streaming
| Region Content | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| US (Netflix US / HBO) | LAX Premium |
| Hong Kong (Netflix HK) | HK Eyeball |
| Japan (Netflix JP / Bilibili) | JP PVM |
Watching multiple regions: Buy one backbone (HK or LAX) + one on-demand (JP), use mihomo rules for traffic splitting.
Scenario 4: Gaming Acceleration
| Server Region | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Japanese servers | JP PVM (required) |
| US servers | LAX Premium |
| Hong Kong servers | HK Eyeball |
Gaming is latency-sensitive—must buy the right regional node.
Scenario 5: Cross-Border Business / E-Commerce
Only recommendation: LAX Premium
- Register US accounts (Amazon Seller / Stripe / PayPal)
- US e-commerce platform operations
- Pair with IPRoyal Residential IP for multi-accounting
Scenario 6: VPN Node / Jump Server
| Purpose | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Japan jump server (company intranet access to Japan office) | JP PVM |
| Hong Kong jump server | HK Eyeball |
| US jump server | LAX Premium |
Scenario 7: Node Pool / High Availability
Buy several for redundancy. Recommended combination:
- Primary: HK Eyeball (low latency)
- Backup: LAX Premium (different region, disaster recovery)
- Special use: JP PVM (as needed)
My Actual Deployment
I currently have 3 nodes at DMIT:
- HK Eyeball Tiny: Daily proxy backbone, runs Xray + Hysteria2
- LAX Premium Tiny: AI tools dedicated egress (ChatGPT / Claude)
- JP PVM Tiny (occasional): Enabled when accessing Japanese services
Using mihomo config for traffic splitting (see mihomo Traffic Splitting Rules):

Handling Out-of-Stock
Hot DMIT packages (HK Tiny / LAX Premium Tiny) go out of stock frequently. How to handle:
Method 1: Follow Official Telegram
DMIT has a restock notification channel. Fast hands, fast luck.
Method 2: Buy a Larger Plan Temporarily
If Tiny (1GB) is out of stock, buy Small (2GB) temporarily. Generally no downgrade support, but month-to-month you can use it until Tiny is back.
Method 3: Use Another Provider as Temporary Replacement
HK out of stock → use AkileCloud HK LAX Premium out of stock → use Bandwagon Host CN2 GIA-E
Method 4: Annual Billing Lock-In
Once you get it, switch to annual billing to avoid restock issues at renewal.
DMIT Gotchas
Gotcha 1: Economy Line Isn’t Worth It
Though cheap ($5.9/month), peak hours mean 260-320ms+ latency with packet loss—proxy becomes unusable. If your budget is $60/year, go straight to Bandwagon Host Plan 87 or RackNerd (see Three-Way Comparison).
Gotcha 2: IPv6 Support is Limited
Some DMIT packages don’t include IPv6, only IPv4. Increasingly, services (some China domestic CDNs) require IPv6—confirm beforehand.
Gotcha 3: Traffic Cap Causes Disconnection
DMIT traffic cap cuts the line completely (not throttled). Check traffic usage around the 25-28th of each month. Can buy traffic add-ons if needed.
Gotcha 4: Support Response Not That Fast
DMIT ticket response typically 12-24 hours. Telegram group is faster for urgent issues.
FAQ
Q: HK or LAX Premium—which is worth buying?
- Latency matters (<50ms): HK Eyeball
- AI tools / US streaming: LAX Premium
- Tight budget: LAX Premium (25% cheaper)
For most people daily, HK feels smoother (lower latency).
Q: How does DMIT JP compare to Bandwagon Host Japan SoftBank?
| Comparison | DMIT JP | BandwagonHost Japan SoftBank |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $16.9/month+ | $90/year (~$7.5/month) |
| Latency | 80-100ms | 100-130ms |
| Bandwidth | 150 Mbps | 80 Mbps |
| IP Quality | Good | Fair |
DMIT JP has better performance, Bandwagon JP has better value.
Q: Can I mix DMIT and Bandwagon Host?
Yes. I do it myself:
- DMIT HK / LAX (daily proxy + AI tools)
- Bandwagon Host CN2 GIA-E (backup node)
- Use mihomo for automatic rule-based switching
Q: What payment methods does DMIT accept?
- Credit card / PayPal
- Cryptocurrency (USDT TRC20 recommended)
- Some plans support Alipay
Q: What’s the difference between DMIT’s KVM and LXC?
- KVM: Full virtualization, supports kernel tweaks (BBR etc.), Docker
- LXC: Container virtualization, cheaper, but doesn’t support custom kernels
Strongly recommend KVM. Many proxy protocols (Hysteria2 etc.) won’t run on LXC.
