DMIT is my primary VPS provider, and I’ve been using it for over a year. Its Hong Kong and US nodes offer the best connection speeds and stability I’ve experienced, with a low IP block rate.
Many people see DMIT’s English interface and don’t know how to purchase. This guide walks you through the entire process.
Why Choose DMIT
When picking a VPS, three things matter most: latency, stability, and IP quality.
DMIT’s advantages:
- Hong Kong nodes have extremely low latency to mainland China (typically 20-40ms from Guangzhou)
- Uses CN2 GIA lines with direct three-network connectivity to China
- Native IPs with strong streaming unlock capability (Netflix, Disney+ Hong Kong region)
- Supports Hysteria2 with good UDP performance
- Significantly lower IP block rates compared to standard BGP lines
Drawbacks:
- Higher pricing (Hong Kong nodes from $14.9/month)
- Popular plans frequently go out of stock
For detailed comparisons with other providers: VPS Selection Guide
Step 1: Register an Account
Visit the DMIT website.
- Click Register in the top right
- Fill in your information:
- First Name / Last Name: Your actual name (for billing)
- Email Address: Your active email
- Password: Set a strong password
- Click Register to complete registration
- Check your email to verify (sometimes lands in spam)
After registration, you’ll be automatically logged into the control panel (Client Area).
Step 2: Choose Your Plan
DMIT has multiple product lines. For proxy nodes, here are my recommendations:
Hong Kong Nodes (Highly Recommended)
Main menu → Products → Hong Kong → PVM.HKG (Eyeball)
The Eyeball line is best optimized for mainland China with the lowest latency.
Common specs:
| Plan | RAM | CPU | Traffic | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tiny | 1GB | 1 Core | 1TB | ~$14.9 |
| Small | 2GB | 2 Cores | 2TB | ~$29.9 |
| Medium | 4GB | 2 Cores | 4TB | ~$58.9 |
The Tiny plan is plenty for a personal proxy node—Xray + Hysteria2 runs comfortably on 1GB RAM.
US Nodes
Main menu → Products → Los Angeles
US nodes come with two line options:
- Premium: Better optimization for mainland China, CN2 GIA egress
- Economy: Lower price, BGP lines
For proxy nodes, choose Premium—latency is 140-180ms and stable.
Step 3: Configure and Order
Click the plan you’ve selected to enter the configuration page:
- Billing Cycle: Monthly or Annually (saves 10-20%)
- Location: Usually fixed, no selection needed
- OS: Choose Ubuntu 22.04 (recommended; subsequent tutorials use Ubuntu)
- SSH Key: You can upload your public key for more secure login than password auth (explained below)
- Review the pricing summary on the right
- Click Continue
Step 4: Payment
DMIT accepts these payment methods:
- Credit Card / PayPal: Link your card or PayPal account
- Cryptocurrency: Supports USDT (TRC20 / ERC20), BTC, ETH, and more
- Alipay: Available for some plans
I recommend USDT TRC20:
- Extremely low fees (1-2 USDT)
- No bank card required
- Instant confirmation
Payment flow:
- Select payment method → Cryptocurrency → USDT (TRC20)
- The page shows your payment address and amount
- Transfer the amount from your wallet (exchange or SafePal)
- Wait for on-chain confirmation (TRC20 usually takes 1-2 minutes)
- DMIT automatically confirms and deploys your VPS
Step 5: Get Your Server Details
About 5-15 minutes after payment, your VPS is deployed and you’ll receive an email with:
- IP address
- Root password (if you didn’t upload an SSH key)
- SSH port (usually 22, though DMIT may use another)
You can also find this in the DMIT control panel: My Services → Click your VPS → Details
Step 6: SSH Connection
macOS / Linux
# Login with password
ssh root@your_VPS_IP
# Login with SSH key (recommended)
ssh -i ~/.ssh/your_private_key root@your_VPS_IP
# If port isn't 22
ssh -p port_number root@your_VPS_IP
On first connection, you’ll see:
The authenticity of host '43.x.x.x' can't be established.
ECDSA key fingerprint is SHA256:xxxxx.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?
Type yes and press Enter.
Windows
Use PuTTY or Windows’ built-in PowerShell:
# PowerShell
ssh root@your_VPS_IP
SSH Key Setup (Recommended for Better Security)
Generate an SSH key pair locally:
# Generate keys (skip if you already have them)
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -C "dmit-vps"
# View your public key
cat ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub
Paste your public key into the SSH Key field on DMIT’s purchase page, or add it manually after connecting:
# On the server
mkdir -p ~/.ssh
echo "your_public_key_content" >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
chmod 700 ~/.ssh
chmod 600 ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
Step 7: Basic Server Initialization
After your first login, I recommend these basic configurations:
# Update system
apt update && apt upgrade -y
# Install common tools
apt install -y curl wget vim htop unzip ufw
# Change SSH port (optional, for security)
vim /etc/ssh/sshd_config
# Find #Port 22, change to Port 18022 (or another port)
systemctl restart sshd
# Configure firewall
ufw default deny incoming
ufw default allow outgoing
ufw allow 18022/tcp # New SSH port
ufw allow 443/tcp
ufw allow 443/udp # Hysteria2 needs UDP
ufw enable
# Set timezone
timedatectl set-timezone Asia/Shanghai
Important: After changing the SSH port, don’t close your current session. Open a new terminal and test the new port to confirm you can connect. Only then close the old session.
Step 8: Deploy Your Proxy
Once the basic environment is set up, deploy your proxy service:
Running both protocols simultaneously with mihomo auto-switching is the most stable approach.
FAQ
Plan Shows Out of Stock—What Do I Do?
Popular plans (Hong Kong Tiny) often sell out. Options:
- Follow DMIT’s official Telegram channel for restocks—buy immediately
- Check NodeSeek or HostLoc communities for resales
- Temporarily order a slightly more expensive Small plan; you can downgrade once stock returns
Still No Deployment Hours After Payment
For crypto payments: wait for on-chain confirmation. TRC20 usually takes 2 minutes; BTC requires 6 block confirmations (about 1 hour).
If nothing happens after 2 hours, submit a ticket (Tickets) and mention your payment txid.
My IP Got Blocked
DMIT supports IP replacement via ticket—usually $5-8. See: VPS IP Blocked—Solutions
Ran Out of Traffic
When monthly traffic is exhausted, some plans throttle (stay connected) while others disconnect. Check usage in your control panel under My Services.
You can buy extra traffic packages or wait for monthly reset.
