Quant Proxy Chain: DMIT + IPRoyal + Claude
Running Binance quant strategies is always at risk of “IP getting blocked”—suddenly your futures API returns 451 Unavailable. Cloud providers like AWS/GCP have their IP ranges blacklisted by most exchanges, and data center IPs get rate-limited pretty regularly. Here’s the stable proxy chain I built: DMIT Hong Kong VPS as a stable relay + IPRoyal residential IP as the final exit + Claude for monitoring and failover.
The Core Problem
How Binance (and most major exchanges) do IP blocking:
- Data center IP blocks: AWS/GCP/OVH/DO → immediate 451, no API access
- VPN nodes: obvious traffic signatures → risk of account suspension
- Shared proxies: other users already abused them → blacklisted
- Residential IPs (ISP-allocated to home users): traffic looks like a normal retail trader → safest bet
Best practice: residential IP for exit + relay VPS for stable connectivity.

Binance API
Why not just “local → IPRoyal → Binance” directly?
- IPRoyal residential IPs have limited bandwidth per IP + unstable (home networks)
- Using residential IP directly as exit means high latency jitter, quant strategies timeout frequently
- DMIT Hong Kong as relay: local to HK is stable ~30ms, HK to residential IP goes over dedicated lines 70-100ms, total RTT stabilizes around 130ms
Component 1: DMIT Hong Kong VPS
Selection:
- DMIT HK Direct or HK Lite plans
- $30-40/month, 1 core 1GB is enough
- 30-50ms latency to mainland China, excellent line quality
Deploy Xray:
# SSH in and one-click install with x-ui panel
bash <(curl -Ls https://raw.githubusercontent.com/vaxilu/x-ui/master/install.sh)
# Then open browser to :54321 and configure VLESS+XTLS-Reality
See Xray REALITY Complete Deployment Guide.
Component 2: IPRoyal Residential IP
Purchase:
- IPRoyal Residential pay-as-you-go $7/GB
- Pre-fund $50 covers 2-3 months of quant usage (quant API calls aren’t data-heavy)
- Pick US/JP/SG data centers for stable latency
Setup:
- IPRoyal dashboard → generate Sticky Session (30-minute lock to same exit IP)
- Get proxy address:
gw.iproyal.com:port+ username + password - Save these credentials
Component 3: Proxy Forwarding on DMIT VPS
Core idea: DMIT VPS does both “receive local traffic” + “exit through IPRoyal”.
Install mihomo on DMIT (or use xray chaining):
# Key section of mihomo config.yaml on DMIT VPS
proxies:
- name: "iproyal-us"
type: http
server: gw.iproyal.com
port: 12321
username: "YOUR_USER"
password: "YOUR_PASS"
proxy-groups:
- name: "exit → residential"
type: select
proxies:
- iproyal-us
- DIRECT # fallback
rules:
- DOMAIN-SUFFIX,binance.com,exit → residential
- DOMAIN-SUFFIX,binancefutures.com,exit → residential
- MATCH,DIRECT
Restart mihomo:
systemctl restart mihomo
Component 4: Local mihomo via DMIT
Mihomo config on your local Mac / quant machine:
proxies:
- name: "dmit-hk"
type: vless
server: YOUR_DMIT_IP
port: 443
uuid: YOUR_UUID
network: tcp
tls: true
reality-opts:
public-key: ...
short-id: ...
rules:
- DOMAIN-SUFFIX,binance.com,dmit-hk
- DOMAIN-SUFFIX,binancefutures.com,dmit-hk
- MATCH,DIRECT
Your quant scripts don’t need changes—just use system proxy (mihomo 127.0.0.1:7890).
Test the Full Chain
# 1. Query IP address via proxy
curl -x http://127.0.0.1:7890 https://ipinfo.io
# Should return a US ISP residential IP
# 2. Hit Binance API via proxy
curl -x http://127.0.0.1:7890 \
https://fapi.binance.com/fapi/v1/ping
# Should return {}
# 3. Test latency
curl -x http://127.0.0.1:7890 -w "%{time_total}\n" \
-o /dev/null -s https://fapi.binance.com/fapi/v1/ping
# Usually stable 150-250ms
Component 5: Claude for Monitoring and Failover
If any link breaks (DMIT maintenance, IPRoyal IP blocked, mihomo crashes), your quant strategy errors out. Use Claude Code to write monitoring:
# proxy_health.py
import urllib.request, json, os, time
TG_TOKEN = os.environ["TG_TOKEN"]
TG_CHAT = os.environ["TG_CHAT_ID"]
def check():
try:
# Ping Binance via proxy
proxy = urllib.request.ProxyHandler({"https": "http://127.0.0.1:7890"})
opener = urllib.request.build_opener(proxy)
r = opener.open("https://fapi.binance.com/fapi/v1/time", timeout=10)
return "OK", r.status
except Exception as e:
return "FAIL", str(e)[:100]
status, info = check()
if status == "FAIL":
# Send Telegram alert
msg = f"🔴 Proxy chain down: {info}"
data = json.dumps({"chat_id": TG_CHAT, "text": msg}).encode()
urllib.request.urlopen(urllib.request.Request(
f"https://api.telegram.org/bot{TG_TOKEN}/sendMessage",
data=data, headers={"Content-Type": "application/json"}
), timeout=5)
Run via LaunchAgent every 5 minutes. Claude Code can write this in 30 minutes.
Cost Breakdown
| Item | Monthly Cost | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| DMIT HK Direct | $30 | Relay + stable connection |
| IPRoyal residential IP | $7-20 (usage-based) | Final exit |
| Mac local | $0 | Run scripts |
| Total | $37-50/month |
Context: losing one account to a block = hundreds to thousands in losses. $40/month for stability is a no-brainer.
Pitfalls I Hit
Pitfall 1: IPRoyal Sticky Session timeout
Default is 30 minutes, then a new exit IP. Binance detects “same session, different IP” and triggers compliance blocks. Fix: buy IPRoyal Static Residential (fixed IP), pricier but bulletproof for API use.
Pitfall 2: DMIT goes down during maintenance
Happens 1-2 times monthly. Fix: get 2 VPS (HK + JP), use mihomo’s url-test for auto-failover.
Pitfall 3: mihomo config typo causes direct connection
Rules miss a domain (e.g., fapi.binance.com vs api.binance.com). Fix: use DOMAIN-SUFFIX,binance.com to catch all Binance subdomains.
Pitfall 4: Quant script doesn’t use system proxy
Python urllib needs explicit proxy config. Simple fix: use requests library with proxies={} in all HTTP calls, or set export HTTPS_PROXY=http://127.0.0.1:7890 and use urllib.
What Else This Architecture Enables
- Quant on AWS: AWS instance → DMIT → IPRoyal → Binance (bypass AWS IP blocks)
- Scrapers / multi-account: pair with IPRoyal IP rotation mode
- AI tool proxy: ChatGPT/Claude API regional blocks also work around this way
See Why AI Tools Need Residential IPs.
Summary
- Quant strategies + Binance futures = must use residential IP for exit
- DMIT HK (relay) + IPRoyal (exit) + Claude (monitoring) is the golden combo
- $40/month cost, 90% savings vs. account suspension recovery
- Claude drops script writing barrier to 30 minutes
